SelectDocsSelectDocs

From rating to policy documents

SelectDocs generates the policy document package from the same rating and policy data. It determines which forms apply, fills them from the data you already have, asks only for what is missing and produces one package ready to issue.

Rate, bind, complete, package

Rating produces the premium. Issuing the policy requires the right documents. SelectDocs makes that next step short and predictable.

It uses the policy you already rated and bound, determines which forms apply for the state and effective date, fills what it can from existing data, asks only for what is missing and generates the package.

SelectRateRate

The premium, with its worksheet.

SelectRateBind

The policy term and its transactions.

SelectDocsComplete

Only the information the forms still need.

SelectDocsPolicy package

One complete package, ready to issue.

What SelectDocs does

Four things, in order, with no questionnaire to maintain.

Determines the forms

The forms that apply to this policy, in the editions in force for its state and effective date, in package order.

Fills what it already knows

Entries come from the policy data you have rated and bound, and from the values your program sets once.

Asks only what is missing

A question exists only because a form that applies needs it. Anything the policy already carries is never asked again.

Generates the package

One complete policy document package, with the forms it contains and why each one applies.

Bureau foundation included. Carrier differences configured once.

Selectsys maintains the bureau document foundation, including forms, editions, applicability and document requirements. Your program inherits the foundation and configures only what is unique to your carrier.

In Program Studio your program configures:

You configureWhat it means
Carrier formsYour own notices, endorsements or a declarations page that replaces the advisory one.
Form electionsThe bureau forms the bureau leaves to the carrier, and the optional forms you let an underwriter choose.
Program valuesWhat prints on every policy: your company name as it should appear, premium and coverage defaults.
Data mappingHow the policy data your system already sends is read, so your system does not have to change.
Question wordingHow the remaining questions read for your underwriters.

No carrier rebuilds the bureau package, and several programs can share one foundation.

Tested before it is published

A document program is versioned and effective dated, like a rating program. Before a version is published you run a full test on real policy data: the forms it produces, the questions it asks, the values that will print and where each came from, and the package itself.

A published version never changes, and every package records the configuration that produced it, so the same package can be explained long after the program has moved on.

Where it fits

From Underwriter Workbench. A bound policy shows a policy documents card: prepare the documents, complete anything still needed on a page that opens without a separate sign-in, then download the package. From your own systems. A policy administration system can do exactly the same through the SelectDocs API, with the same configuration and the same package.

SelectDocs is a separate product in the same family as SelectRate. It does not rate, and SelectRate does not produce documents.

What is available today

SelectDocs is available today for supported AAIS products and jurisdictions, with additional foundations being added. Ask us about availability for your program.

ISO. SelectDocs does not generate ISO policy documents, and the carrier document configuration described on this page is for AAIS programs. ISO rating is unaffected: see ISO general liability rating.

Common questions

Which programs can generate documents today?

SelectDocs is released per line and per jurisdiction, so the answer depends on what you write. Ask us which of your programs are covered today.

Does SelectDocs generate ISO policy documents?

No. SelectDocs supports AAIS document foundations. ISO document generation is not available, and the carrier document configuration described here is for AAIS programs.

Do we have to build the bureau forms ourselves?

No. The bureau foundation is maintained for you and inherited by your program. You configure your carrier forms, elections, program values, data mapping and question wording.

What happens when information is missing?

SelectDocs asks for it, and only for it. A question exists because a form that applies needs it, and anything the policy data already carries is never asked.

Can our own policy system use SelectDocs?

Yes. The same configuration and the same package are available through the SelectDocs API, so a policy administration system can prepare documents without the Workbench.

Is SelectDocs part of SelectRate?

It is a separate product in the same family, with its own sign-in. It works from the policy data SelectRate already holds.

Bring a bound policy and we will produce its documents on the call.

You will see the forms it selects, the questions it asks and the package it generates.
